The following trials investigate the use of thalidomide in primary
and metastatic brain tumors:
Recurrent
High Grade Glial Neoplasm (Glioblastoma, Anaplastic Astrocytoma, Anaplastic Oligodendroglioma, Anaplastic Oligoastrocytoma)
Phase I/II dose escalation study of Carboplatin and Thalidomide in recurrent
high grade glioma
Eligibility: Recurrent
high grade glial neoplasm, no prior carboplatin or cisplatinum based chemotherapy.
Protocol: Carboplatin
is administered monthly and Thalidomide is administered daily. Up to six courses of therapy may be given.
Recurrent Brain Metastasis
Phase II study of Thalidomide in recurrent brain metastasis
Eligibility: Recurrent
brain metastases following completion of radiation therapy. Not a candidate for gross total tumor resection or
for radiosurgery. No concurrent chemotherapy (except hormonal therapy for breast cancer).
Protocol: Thalidomide
is administered daily until tumor recurrence or chemotherapy is started.
Recurrent Atypical or Malignant Meningioma
Phase II study of Thalidomide in Atypical or Malignant
Meningioma
Eligibility: Recurrent
